I first saw Jamie Wax in Going to Jackson well over 15 yrs ago. It was truely one of the best productions I'd ever seen,(including Broadway-my opinion) both in performance and content. I brought different guests with me 3 more times during that run. I couldn't find anymore about him again until last year.(I contribute this to a pre-computer era combined with living in a cave.) Anyway, I stumbled upon A Gift For Lyman Burke last Christmas, and Going to Jackson again in the summer. I brought my mother and daughter to both. As I expected with Lyman, he did not disappoint. I alternated between laughing and crying, and it occured to me that the ushers should offer Prozac with the programs. He is truely gifted with an ability to tell a heart-warming story with such depth that it touches your soul. This year, for my daughter's 16th birthday, she's bringing her friends to share the experience. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate. I only regret finding this Christmas treasure so late in Lyman's life.
If you are considering attending this, I can't recommend it enough. It's also the perfect gift for the person who has everything.
